Computational Thinking Integrated into Middle Grades Science Instruction: A Review of the Literature

Mon, Nov 2, 7:30 to 8:30am EST (7:30 to 8:30am EST), Virtual AECT, Gallery Walk

Short Description

Computational thinking is a form of computer-supported problem-solving that allows learners to engage in authentic scientific work. School systems in the United States increasingly value this form of problem-solving, but they lack clear guidance on what is known about integrating computational thinking into middle grades science subjects. The purpose of this literature review study was to critically examine the existing empirical literature related to integrating computational thinking into middle grades science curricula.
