In this presentation, we’d like present findings from a study featured in an upcoming TechTrends Special Issue focused on the use of productive failure in educational settings. In our study, we scope the intersection of failure and loss within game-based instructional interventions within the literature. The study includes several key findings that we believe are helpful to any researchers or practitioners interested in game-based instructional interventions like, serious games, gamification, game-based learning experiences, and simulations.
