Discovering unique approaches to facilitate and support connectedness in doctoral distance education is increasingly important. The problem for doctoral students in online programs is the lack of connectedness resulting in challenges during the transition to the dissertation phase of programs (Terrell et al., 2009). Identifying interventions and opportunities to foster connectedness at a difficult phase of the doctoral journey is vital in addressing attrition concerns for online students. Audience interaction includes using polling technology tools.
