The history of the Instructional Technology (IT) field in the 21st century reveals that our field has been technology-centered over the last two decades. How can we better prepare IT students for the future? How should we improve our IT programs? What are the core knowledge, skills, and competencies we should teach? More research is needed to address these questions. This qualitative study aims to explore experts' views on the current state of the Instructional Technology field as well as their vision for the future of the field.
