Short Description

Our presentation will present detailed finding and discuss takeaways from our study investigating the relationship between adolescent metacognitive awareness and their information literacy in non-academic contexts including social media. Using an explanatory mixed methods design, we first investigate the correlation between metacognitive awareness and information literacy in non-academic context. Then, using a stratified subset from the original sample, we are conducting think alouds as participants complete qualitative credibility assessment performance tasks on social media posts.
