Short Description

Formative assessment and personalized feedback are commonly recognized as key factors for improving students’ performance and increasing their motivation and engagement. However, in large enrollment online courses technological solutions to give feedback are often limited to objective assessments. Objective assessments, especially multiple-choice questions, have serious shortcomings for assessing learning outcomes on communication. A solution to this challenge is using Vantage Learning’s automated essay scoring engine, IntelliMetric® delivered via the Adaptera® assessment delivery platform.
