Impact on Online Student Learning through DEI Frameworks, Learning Design, and Instructional Practices

Tue, Oct 25, 3:50 to 4:45pm PDT (3:50 to 4:45pm PDT), Conf Center, Melrose 4

Short Description

Online environments should make learners feel welcome, promote equal opportunity to participate, and engage learners, ALL learners. In other words, they should be inclusive. The use of well-articulated principles such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL) informs inclusive practices. Online learning implies a different approach to the task of inclusion. This panel will focus on the challenges, opportunities, and barriers that instructional designers face when building towards diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in online environments.
