The Future of Learning Post-Pandemic: Soft Systems Thinking as an Approach to Educational Change

Thu, Oct 27, 11:00 to 11:15am PDT (11:00 to 11:15am PDT), Conf Center, Melrose 2

Short Description

The COVID-19 pandemic caused the largest education system disruption in history, with many districts abruptly implementing remote or blended learning to maintain instruction. As the dangers of the pandemic diminish, 20% of brick-and-mortar schools now plan to establish and expand online and blended learning. This paper examines how soft systems thinking supported the effective roll-out of a large urban blended learning initiative and how it might be useful as schools consider the future of learning.
