We explored how preservice teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs for communication and information technology (ICT) influence their ICT competencies directly and indirectly through online self-regulated learning (SRL) strategies. A total of 204 preservice teachers participated in this correlational study. Data were analyzed by using the structuring equation modeling approach. The results suggested that ICT self-efficacy has a small positive direct effect and small positive indirect effects through Goal setting and environmental structuring strategies on ICT competency.
