16. RTD- Humanist and Posthumanist Tensions in Critical Instructional Design

Mon, Oct 24, 3:50 to 5:20pm PDT (3:50 to 5:20pm PDT), Virtual, Online C

Short Description

This virtual and interactive poster session showcases dissertation research-in-progress: an exploration of the tensions of humanism and posthumanism within the context of instructional design in higher education. Drawing upon the qualitative methodology of self-study, the research examines an instructional designer’s ongoing professional learning through the lens of critical posthumanism (Braidotti, 2013; 2019) and engages a diffractive analysis (Haraway, 1997) to examine the tensions that arise when humanist and posthumanist perceptions interfere with each other.
