To explore whether a technology-enhanced embodied intervention affects students’ mathematical understanding, this exploratory research developed a math game with machine learning enhanced computer-vision techniques. We will recruit 20 4th-graders and analyze their multimodal discourse and movement log data using mixed methods. This research will demonstrate the pedagogical potential of integrating an embodied learning intervention into classrooms without any special sensor equipment, and extend the theoretical underpinnings of embodied mathematical thinking and communication.
