Despite the growing demand for K-12 computer science (CS) education, one significant barrier to schools offering CS courses is the lack of qualified teachers. Stakeholders have suggested that to increase CS teacher capacity, we need to create preservice programs that can produce teachers of CS. In this study, we conducted interviews with the six teacher educators representing teacher education programs across the U.S. to describe the methods used to include CS content in their elementary education programs and challenges that may exist in incorporating CS into their programs.
