Short Description

GSA RESEARCH SHOWCASE WINNER: This study employs a phenomenological sequential exploratory (QUAL-quan) mixed methods design, which has received minimal research attention in the field, to examine why novice teachers engage in online community spaces. The descriptive phenomenological, qualitative phase of the study informed the design of the multivariate, quantitative phase to test themes generated from the qualitative analysis. Findings highlight the importance design plays in revealing key insights that might not otherwise be discovered.
