Faculty feel that students do not value group work in college classes. Our research found that students value group work, but the reality of their group work experiences does not live up to their expectations, Expectations (M = 3.30; SD = .593) compared to their Reality (M=2.40; SD=.577), t(163) = 20.658, p< 001. Faculty and instructional designers will benefit from this presentation as it provides suggestions for designing more effective group work activities.
