Using an intervention based on Duckworth’s construct of grit, this presentation reports on a study that attempted to foster perseverance in student teachers using an affirming grit-building intervention. It is our belief that we can transform individuals to accomplish goals, overcome obstacles, embrace change with a growth mindset, and have more satisfying work experiences in teaching when they become more aware that they can and will persevere.
