Bichronous Online Learning is the blending of asynchronous and synchronous online learning. Twelve award-winning online instructors participated in hour-long interviews to discuss best practices they use, and benefits and challenges in bichronous online courses. Some of the asynchronous best practices discussed were course design and structure, resources, instructor presence and synchronous best practices were formats/activities/content of synchronous sessions, and community-building. Benefits and challenges were also identified. This presentation has implications for instructors who teach online.
