The decline in handwriting in Chinese social settings has promoted Pinyin-based typing as a more efficient method for learning Chinese characters. However, it has not been widely adopted by teachers and students in and out of the classroom due to a lack of effective digital solutions. This presentation showcases the design and development of a mobile application (*TIC APP) for typing-based Chinese language learning through design-based research. TIC APP can be downloaded from the AppStore.
