The Effects of Collaboration in Technology-Rich Environments on K-12 Students’ Computational Thinking Skills: A Systematic Review

Tue, Oct 17, 9:00 to 9:50am EDT (9:00 to 9:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Universal, Universal E1

Short Description

Abstract

Computational thinking (CT) skills are crucial in today's technology-driven world. Collaboration is an effective way to promote CT skills in technology-rich environments (TREs; e.g., immersive games). We reviewed 38 studies using the PRISMA method to study how collaboration in TREs affects K-12 students' CT skills. Our findings highlight the impact of collaboration on K-12 students' CT skills in TREs, and contribute to the development of effective learning environments that facilitate collaboration focusing on CT skills.
