Is Early Participation Rewarding? Examining Factors Influencing Students’ Online learning Performance at a Large Scale

Mon, Oct 16, 11:00 to 11:50am EDT (11:00 to 11:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Space Coast II

Short Description

Little research has been conducted to investigate the relationship between students’ early start in online learning and their course performance. We modelled the relationship of early participation in online courses and student final performance using multilevel logit modelling with over 30,000 students data in 22 online university courses. Results showed that early participation in online course activities is significantly correlated with student final performance. Discussions on the results were provided in the proposal.
