Short Description

This in-progress study aims to compare the effects of two modes of teacher interaction in asynchronous online discussions on student performance, including the quantity of student participation, the quality of student postings, and student emotions. A mixed research method, combining social network analysis, content analysis, and an online survey, will be used to provide insights for educators and online programs to optimize teacher interaction in asynchronous online discussions to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
