AI Education Integration in South Korea from Early Adopters’ Perspectives: A Case Study

Tue, Oct 17, 10:00 to 10:50am EDT (10:00 to 10:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Seminole, Gold Coast III

Short Description

This case study investigated AI education integration barriers in South Korea from the perspectives of AI education Core Teachers. Five teachers were interviewed individually. Ertmer’s first-order (e.g., resources) and second-order (e.g., beliefs) barriers to change framework (1999) was implemented to analyze the data. Findings suggest: 1) training is essential to address first-order barriers; 2) strong teachers’ buy-in resulting in minimum second-order barriers; and 3) a new barrier evolving from a desire wanting to do more.
