While designing authentic learning environments and developing authentic tasks, designers should consider that some learners such as Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIWOC) face unique, intersectional challenges that often prevent them from being comfortable sharing their authentic voices. This presentation will showcase how faculty in higher education consider BIWOC within the development of authentic learning activities and how BIWOC learners perceive the degree of authenticity of those activities through narrative inquiry.
