This presentation shares ongoing research being conducted by a researcher-practitioner partnership striving to improve the field’s understanding of how culturally-relevant computing can be used to prepare elementary educators to integrate CS into their classrooms. Now in its second year, members of the partnership will reflect on lessons learned while designing and implementing professional development workshops about culturally-relevant computing. The presentation will be relevant to anyone interested in CS education, professional development, and culturally-relevant pedagogy.
