This proposal advocates for the development of an instrument that assesses the usability of educational and learning technologies, taking into account the pedagogical and sociocultural aspects that current approaches overlook. We collected existing usability instruments and employed an unsupervised learning algorithm to cluster the corpus of usability items. Findings revealed that current instruments mainly focus on technological constructs, with few relating to pedagogical and sociocultural aspects. We are currently developing items to assess these neglected aspects in the new instrument.
