Tagging, Knowledge Sharing, and Knowledge Creation: Identifying Use Clusters Among College Students

Tue, Oct 17, 10:00 to 10:50am EDT (10:00 to 10:50am EDT), Doubletree Main Conference Center - Universal, Universal E1

Short Description

This mixed-methods study uses interviews and a card sort activity to explore college undergraduates' engagement in knowledge creation and tagging activities in online settings. Using cluster analysis, we identify three cluster profiles based on 63 college students’ self-reported participation frequency: quiet, social, and organizational users. The defining characteristics of each cluster and factors influencing their participation are explained through thematic analysis of interview transcripts.
