Fri, April 13, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Vancouver Convention Centre, Floor: Second Level, East Room 9

Abstract

This paper will report on a study of 13 graduate students who have been enrolled in a 12 semester hour Teacher Leadership Endorsement program offered by a university in Ohio. The paper will disseminate findings of an action research project that examined the effects of the program on changes in students’ perceptions of school leadership activities, roles, responsibilities, and work relationships. The paper will also offer recommendations for the reconceptualization of school leadership for deepening democracy both culturally and educationally.
