Session Submission Type: Symposium
This session presents research on teacher stress from an international perspective. Each of the contributions will focus on specific theories of stress that illuminate the unique demands and resources pertaining to each culture. The role of globalization is another important factor that will be applied to understanding teacher stress. Research conducted on teacher stress in the countries of Norway, Greece, Germany, and the United States will presented. The session will conclude with a review of major theories of stress and how they can be applied to understanding teacher stress internationally. Factors related to globalization will also be reviewed to highlight commonalities and differences in teacher stress across regions and cultures.
