Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
In this session a panel of international scholars from the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland examine the negotiated masculine body as a site for critique and analysis particularly as it is located and navigated within specific supervised and unsupervised spaces within schools. As such the focus is on how masculinities are allowed, restricted, limited and delimited in school spaces and in the broader picture of schools that both healthily and unhealthily contribute to the maintenance and surveillance of dominant and oppressive masculine identities.
