Session Submission Type: Demonstration/Performance

Abstract

For more than two decades, PreK-12 educators have utilized the habits, concepts and tools of systems thinking to enhance student learning. As a result of training, related networking and coaching from experts in the field of education and system dynamics, support for the work of Systems Thinking in Schools (STIS) has grown throughout the United States. With that growth, reports of positive results for both students and teachers are gathering momentum. Participants in this session will learn about the history of STIS, related exemplars of student learning, and applications for school leadership teams. Participants will have opportunities to participate in learning activities that exemplify applications of systems thinking as instructional and leadership strategies for preK-12 and university settings.
