Session Submission Type: Invited Session
This symposium aims to create a space for considerations regarding the methodologist, methodological work, and methodological responsibility. Contemporarily, the technocrat has come to stand in for the methodologist as methodological work over-emphasizes concerns regarding the technique of method. In response, we offer methodological responsibility or, the need for the methodologist to exceed him/herself through making possible new trajectories or avenues of methodological being. The symposium will begin with participants responding to a series of questions distributed beforehand and will conclude by panelists and audience members collaborating to develop a series of responses and action-steps concerning the role of the methodologist, methodological expertise, and methodological responsibility in educational inquiry.
