Open Access models of scholarly communication have profoundly altered academic practices and increased the visibility of educational research globally. At the same time the concerns about the quality and “sustainability” of Open Access journals in education are also increasing. This session will analyze some of the alternatives that are being used in the field to address the issue of “sustainability” of OA scholarly journals in education.
