Hypothesis Testing in Regression Discontinuity Designs

Mon, April 16, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Sheraton Wall Centre, Floor: Third Level, North Junior Ballroom B

Abstract

The regression-discontinuity design (RD) is a powerful methodological alternative to the experimental design when unable to randomly assign subjects. RD is also a better alternative than the quasi-experimental design. The RD design involves testing post-test differences between the experimental and comparison group regression lines at the cutoff point for statistical significance. Two different hypothesis testing approaches will be presented and explained.
