This paper presents a study in which we investigated elementary teacher students’ experiences of co-teaching in their final, Master’s practicum. The topic is important because co-teaching has become quite popular recently also outside the special education context. We also realized that although our students have practiced teaching in pairs for decades, we have not provided them with knowledge of co-teaching models. Thus we collected web-based survey data, and received answers from 32 students that participated in the practicum during the spring of 2011. They answered to 11 open-ended questions concerning the arrangements, the benefits and possible problems of co-teaching.
