Abstract

Mentoring has become an international phenomenon As such, it is impacted by and impacts the cultural milieu within which it functions. This milieu is changing rapidly due to globalization and technological advances. This changing miliew is altering the way mentoring is viewed and constructed, raising questions about what it is and how it will function in a global environment

This presentation presents a conceptual framework that captures the essence of the interactions between mentoring and culture and provides a comprehensive basis upon which to understand and further study the cultural complexities inherent in mentoring programs and relationships in our global society.
