Mon, April 16, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Vancouver Convention Centre, Floor: Second Level, East Room 1

Abstract

After examining the data, nine important themes emerged and provided significant perceptual insight concerning the shift in mission from non-secular to secular in institutions of higher learning. The most prevalent themes were centered around (a) the hiring of the right faculty, (b) the appointment of the right leadership, (c) the inadequacy of finance, (d) the pursuit of academic credibility, (e) the irrelevancy of Christ-centeredness, (f) the anti-mission challenges of enrollment growth, (g) the effect of the fear factor, (h) the severance from Church/Denomination Affiliation, and (i) the prevalence of quasi-secular institutions.
