Sat, April 14, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Vancouver Convention Centre, Floor: First Level, East Ballroom C

Abstract

This study originated from faculty and graduate students in an Education College wanting to know how Education College faculty, staff and students were critically engaging Indigenous issues in theory and practice. Specifically, they wanted to learn how Indigenous teacher education candidates were supported in their programs and how all teacher education candidates were prepared to address Indigenous issues in their classrooms and educate Indigenous students. They invited study participants to identify what curriculum, events and organization were addressing Indigenous issues well and what recommendations they had for improvements.
