Session Submission Type: Symposium
Given the significant challenges we face in effectively educating students from varying backgrounds in diverse contexts, how might technology serve as an agent for change? This symposium is intended to explore the ways in which technological innovations can improve college readiness, college access and college success for traditionally underserved students. Symposium participants will highlight specific innovations in technology and discuss their effects on student literacy and identity development. Panelists will consider the role of digital, transmedia and social networking tools in increasing access to educational opportunity and improving the caliber of education as it relates to preparedness for and achievement within postsecondary settings.
