Understanding students’ engagement with learning applied research methods in online environment might provide insight into effective applications of technology in higher education and in the subject areas that have traditionally utilized conventional instructional formats. The paper discusses the results from a mixed methods study that explored from students’ perspective how they engage in learning applied research methods in online environment using quantitative survey and qualitative interviews with graduate students who successfully completed one or more online research methods courses from a research one university in the south-east.
