In this paper I take the lead of Pinar and Grumet (1976) and Eisner (1994), who used the etymological roots of curriculum (currere, i.e., a course to be run) as an epistemological point of departure from which to focus on narratives of lived experience. Drawing from literature pertaining to narrative forms of inquiry such as autobiography, autoethnography and testimonio—this paper makes use of the etymological and social roots of corrido (to run or to flow through) to critically explore narrative inquiry as a form of liminal research that runs or flows through ethical in- between spaces of the lower Mexico-Texas border.
