At the 2011 meeting of the AERA, I chaired a session with discussant that engaged the presenters and the audience in a discussion about the unique relational issues that emerged as they shaped the representations of their research. I was intrigued by the discussant’s question since I was in the midst of considering the post-inquiry relational interactions with some of the participants whom I had lived alongside across several studies. As I have relived these experiences, however, I began to restory myself as a researcher in relationship to those participants that participate in research with me. The purpose of this paper is to explore that reshaping.
