An Analysis of the Regressive Nature of Universal College-Prep Curricula

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the impact of college prep for all curricula on the lifetime earnings of non-college attending students. The results of the analysis show that an unintended consequence of college for all curricula is that they are economically regressive as they maximize lifetime earnings for those who will already earn a higher salary while minimizing lifetime earnings for those who will already earn a lower salary.
