Sun, April 15, 8:15 to 9:45am, Vancouver Convention Centre, Floor: First Level, East Ballroom A

Abstract

This is part of a larger study that examined sitting university president’s perceptions of the elements present in higher education curriculum that most prepared them for their role and elements they perceived as essential for educational preparation programs to focus on when preparing potential university presidents. The presidents identified three broad elements that must be present in a higher education doctoral program geared toward preparing presidents. The one reported in this study deals with the importance that assessment and accountability plays in an effective higher education program. The results of this study should help administrators, curriculum developers, and faculty associated with higher education administrations programs and educational leadership institutes to better understand higher education students’ needs and enhance their programs.
