This study will examine three areas in the process of creating indigenous curricula: (1) the teacher, how she honors the indigenous knowledge of her students and the community in developing her fifth grade curricula; (2) the curriculum coordinator, how she supports development and implementation of indigenous curricula; and (3) the university consultant, how he develops assessment tools to determine the effect of implementing indigenous curricula on student achievement.
