Abstract

This poster session proposes an agenda of research to identify: 1) barriers to adoption of innovative teaching strategies for English language learners; and 2) the most effective professional development strategies for teachers that are conducive to the education of migrant workers through mobile learning.

This research is significant because professional development related to the use of mobile learning suggests a paradigm shift for educator behavior to include learning opportunities that occur outside the classroom. It attempts to understand U.S. K-12 teacher perspectives of implementation of an ELL mobile system for migrant students. This research will propose professional development strategies specific to the shift in educator behavior toward extended mLearning environments.
