Queering Teacher Education and Developing a Collective Consciousness

Abstract

This paper reports on a study of a course offered for preservice teachers was titled “Equal Opportunity: Education and Homophobia. The course was designed to queer pre-service teacher knowledge and to provide opportunity for pre-service teachers to develop a collective consciousness for educational activism through narratives, media, and public pedagogy.
