This national study examined the landscape of pre-college outreach programs in the United States and identified programs whose primary focus was college completion (rather than just access) and demonstrated evidence of data collection practices to improve program operation and services. The goal of the study was to expand the view of who can impact college completion rates and present case studies of promising practices and replicable models to assist in advancing the nation’s effort to increase the number of college graduates by 2020. This study can help inform senior policymakers and national philanthropies that are interested in supporting and expanding successful pre-college outreach programs.
