Abstract

While international students benefit from the high quality education they receive institutions of higher education in North America the challenges they face on and off campus continue to be unresolved. A shift from practices that promote assimilation to those that promote mutually beneficial acculturation is needed. This paper describes a systemic, multilayered, and self-reinforcing approach which has the potential to transform institutional structures and management practices of campuses and the communities that sustain them.
