This study examined ethnic socialization experienced by Korean American (KA) young adults and adolescents and attempted to understand how these experiences predicted an individual’s exploration, resolution, and affect of her/his ethnic identity. Surveys were administered and multivariate regressions were conducted with individual characteristics included as covariates. The study found parent and friend ethnic socialization significantly predicted exploration and resolution. Neither predicted affect. Primary caregiver, being young, and neighborhood composition contributed to the differences in ethnic socialization.
