The current study identified victimization latent profiles (LPs) based on the extent to which students experienced traditional and/or cyber-victimization and their negative psycho-social effects (e.g. fear and avoidance of places and activities). Analyses were conducted with data from the 2011 School Crime Supplement of the National Crime Victimization Survey (N=498) and followed a 3-step estimation procedure (Asparouhov & Muthen, 2012), with behavior management as a covariate, and weapon carrying as a distal outcome. Three LPs were identified: a) Average (N=441), b) Traditional & Cyber-Victims (N=33), and c) Traditional Victims (N=23). Effective behavior management reduced the likelihood of being assigned to a group with high levels of victimization, and, consequently, of engaging in risky behaviors such as weapon carrying.
