Abstract

This literature review draws on historical-comparative analysis of previous research on campus climate and diversity in higher education in California. Utilizing a historical framework, this literature review examine campus climate from the early 1990's at the institutional level and chronicles campus climate and diversity perceptions at post-secondary institutions. Synthesizing data on campus climate perceptions for students of color at public institutions in California from 1992 until today provides a historical context necessary to understanding student perceptions and experiences.
